The Epson L1250 is compatible with InkZero. You can read its waste ink counters for free on a Windows x64 computer using a direct USB connection. A reset requires a key or an activated lifetime license, an internet connection and serviced waste ink pads.
What has been checked on the L1250?
The project records include a physical L1250 reset and a check that the reset persisted after turning the printer off and on. Two L1250 units also supplied nonzero readings for the first and third counters; the second counter was observed only at zero.
These observations describe the tests carried out in this project. They are not a promise about every firmware revision or USB interface. InkZero checks the connected model, the complete reading and known memory markers before allowing a reset.
Before you begin
- Use a Windows x64 PC and connect the printer directly by USB. InkZero V1.0 does not communicate with the printer over Wi-Fi.
- Read the exact printer error in Epson Status Monitor. Lights alone do not establish a waste ink counter condition.
- Have the waste ink pads serviced or replaced as appropriate. A software reset does not remove the ink already collected.
- Keep the printer powered and connected throughout the operation, and make sure the computer has internet access for the reset.
Read the counters before buying a key
- Download InkZero for Windows and open the application.
- Connect the L1250 by USB and check that the detected model matches your printer.
- Select Read counters. Reading is free and can work offline.
- Review the reading and any messages. If the app reports an incomplete reading or a model mismatch, resolve it before continuing.
Use the app’s Save action if you need a portable JSON reading for comparison or support. A reading helps identify the software condition; it does not measure how much ink the physical pads can safely hold.
Reset and verify
Once the pads have been serviced and the reading is complete, redeem a reset key or use your activated lifetime license. Review the app’s confirmation before proceeding. InkZero saves a backup before writing and verifies the writes and final reading.
Follow the app’s instructions, then turn the printer off and back on and read the counters again. This checks whether the new values persisted. If the operation is interrupted or an error remains, keep the error details and contact support instead of repeatedly requesting new resets.
Which license do I need?
One key authorizes one reset operation. The five-key pack contains separate single-use keys. A lifetime license permits unlimited online resets from one activated computer and cannot be transferred. See the current reset prices and license choices.
