Two warning lights do not identify a single fault across every Epson printer. The model, whether the lights stay on or flash, and whether they flash together or alternately all matter. Check the exact message before buying a reset key.

Record what the printer is telling you

  1. Find the model number on the printer. Use its manual, not instructions for a visually similar model.
  2. Note which lights are on and their blinking pattern. Include the power and network lights if they are involved.
  3. Open Epson Status Monitor and copy the exact error. A screenshot or short description of the light pattern is useful when requesting help.
  4. Follow the matching troubleshooting instructions. Check for paper and connection problems before assuming the waste ink counter is the cause.

Epson L1250: patterns have different meanings

In the official L1250 light-status guide, the ink and paper lights flashing together can indicate an ink pad nearing or reaching the end of its service life. Alternating ink and paper lights can indicate the borderless printing ink pad. Epson directs users to its support or an authorized service provider for pad replacement.

The same guide lists other light combinations for other conditions. Apply these examples only to the L1250 and confirm them against the message on your computer. Other Epson models may use different patterns or service procedures.

When a counter reading is useful

If the exact message points to a waste ink pad or counter, check your model in the InkZero catalog. Connect it to a Windows x64 PC by USB and select Read counters. The reading is free, so you can check the app’s result before buying a key.

If the model is missing, the app cannot complete the reading or the message points to another fault, a reset key is not the next diagnostic step. Resolve the specific problem or ask for support with the error details.

Service the pads before resetting

InkZero changes software counter values; it cannot remove collected ink. Pads that require maintenance must be serviced or replaced as appropriate. A temporary disappearance of the warning is not evidence that the physical pads have been serviced.

For a compatible counter condition, complete the maintenance, follow the app’s reset checks, then restart the printer and read the counters again. See the counter guide for the distinction between reading, resetting and pad servicing.

Still unsure?

Contact InkZero support with your model, the exact message, the light pattern and the result of a free reading if available. For hardware servicing, follow Epson’s instructions for your model. The L1250 reset guide covers InkZero’s documented checks for that printer.
